Part 1: Why You Need a Wedding Planner - from a Photographer’s Point of View
Welcome to our new series “LIES + the TRUTH: What we hear about why couples think they shouldn’t hire a Wedding Planner .”
In other words, yes you need one and don’t sell yourself and your Wedding Day short by insisting that you don’t. ;)

The LIE: I don’t need one, after all I’m so organized!
The TRUTH: It does not matter how organized you are. Unless you are an *experienced*, full-time Planner, specifically in the Weddings industry, your skills likely will not carry over. There are many moving parts and intricacies that no amount of Type-A can prepare you for. From how to direct vendors for loading-in their gear and set up, to coordinating with your Venue, to the design and concept of the entire event.

For example, several times we have had a Bride insist on being their own Planner. Many issues arose, but one HUGE one that affected their day was that *luckily* we caught several points in the timeline where they had multiple things happening simultaneously. Obviously, you can’t be in two places at once. While we did catch these issues, it was already too late to help them in other areas, and it did affect their day negatively.
