Now, before you think it’s all about us. Let me explain what we mean by that.
When we say “please let us pick the location/help you decide on where to shop/outfit choices/props/vibe”…it’s not because our egos are out of control.
It’s because any artist, no matter if they are a fashion designer, a photographer, or a wedding planner, truly shines when they are given creative freedom and the time to create the very best their brain can dream up for you!
Prior to shoot day, Taylor and we had chatted many times about the vibe of the shoot and the direction we were going. We started a mood board on pinterest, invited taylor to contribute to it as well, and continued refining the overal vibe we were going for.
After a family friend’s vintage car availabilty fell through, we all decided that having a classic car was really still important. Brandon and I scoured the car rental apps and found a stunning vintage Austin Healey convertible for rent. In our opinion, every aspect of a shoot matters, but having this more-than-epic “prop” was just a non-negotiable. We’re so glad Taylor and josh agreed!
Once we had the car situated, Taylor shopped on one of our favorite websites (REVOLVE), and bought her stunning white blazer dress will bell sleeves. Josh donned a fitted black suit with crisp white shirt, and Taylor accentuated her awesome legs with what we like to call “sitting heels” (haha!) but hey, we do it for the looks of it, baby! Taylor was a true champion and walked in those gorgeous heels all shoot long!
Then we were onto location selection. We provided a few different options, but highlighted what we thought would be the coolest. Without missing a beat, Taylor said “whatever you think is best, we trust you totally.”
Guys, THESE ARE THE MAGIC WORDS.
SO we choose some super cool spots we had been dying to shoot at! And you know what? It wasn’t a beach. or a park. or an area where everyone has already done their engagement sessions at. And this is what we truly dream of.
We are looking for couples just like Taylor and Josh, who realize the importance of investing in something you may NEVER do again. That more time is always better than less. And that you will forever get the best out of any artist by following an idea, location, or vibe that they’re super passionate about.
Josh, Taylor…we truly can’t thank you enough for allowing us to basically Creative Direct this whole shoot. And more importantly for showing up ready to have a great time with us, and with each other. We love you guys!!
