Event Photography: The SHOW - Only Wave Film Festival St. Pete
As Tampa photographers, our approach to event photography is capturing not just images but the emotions, stories, and the overall vibe as it’s happening.
With its indie coastal atmosphere, downtown St. Pete is one of our favorite places to shoot. Combine our love for the city with the opportunity to shoot a progressive film and arts festival, and we were ecstatic to showcase The SHOW, a five-in-one event spread across multiple floors of the industrial St. Pete event space, Station House.
The local event marked the 3rd edition of the Only Wave Film Festival and the official relaunch of the Reveal series. It began with an arts festival and local vendor market, followed by a film festival on the rooftop, and ended with a vibrant after-party. It was an evening of dynamic arts, engaging cinema, and lively connections.
Our Approach: It's All About the Vibe
Events like "The SHOW" have a diverse range of atmospheres across different floors and timeframes. Since we shoot as a duo, our ability to adapt our style and approach to the vibe of the event allows us to thrive in multi-faceted settings. We're not just capturing images; we're capturing experiences.
To document the essence of the events, we got a feel for the 'zones,’ from the artsy vibes, including live tattoos and musical performances, at the vendor market to the cinematic energy on the rooftop.
The night ended with an after-party celebrating creativity, artistic passion, and good vibes.
